Our project intends to be a held-out hand, an answer to the desperate cry of help of hopeless souls, ravaged by despair, loneliness, helplessness, fear, phisical pain caused by illness, anguish caused by so many frustrations (the death of hte dear ones, lack of medicine or food etc).
In this period our foundation have fully assisted the following persons:
Bartha Varvara, Bercean Margareta, Berger Eva, Cristea Irina, Gyori Gabriela, Ilies Melinda, Palfi Elisabeta, Stefan Ana, withing the age range of 73 and 85, ill, lonely and with an insufficiant income, except for Mrs. Eva Berger.
As we have already informed you, being a Jew, she had the unhappy experience of knowing and surviving the Aushcwitz camp. It is her wish that we assist her partially (offering her company and emotional-spiritual support).

Until May the project was lead and sustained by one person: Rodica Rusu, who is also the coordinator of the program. Starting with 1st of June, Rodica has a new colleague, Dorina Pumnut, who will assist her in the work of the project two days a week.
Dorina is a young woman who dedicated her heart to God and who wants to get involved in this project as well. As someone who has the responsability of the project and who is well aware that is accountable to God for everything we do every day, I wish to make a good team with Dorina, a team that will faithfully work for the same goal.
We wish to briefly inform you about the activities we've organized in this period:
On the 27th of May we have celebrated Mrs Ani Stefan's birthday, who turned 74. She enjoyed the cake, the presents and the hugs we offered her. She asked us to pray for her as she always does, for there is no visit we end without praying.

On the 16th of June it was Mrs Irina Cristea's turn to be celebrated. She still mourns her dead son (who died at 41, of cancer). She still needs encouragement, support and love. We were there for her in this special day so that she might feel loved.
In the sunny days we took her out together with Mrs Ani and Mrs Margareta, we went to have a walk in the park thus enjoying the beauty of nature, the flowers' scent and a refreshing icecream. The walk had the expected outcome.

Helped by Raluca Rusu we have shopped the needed things from Billa, whereas in June Dorina Pumnut, my colleague, helped me.
Mrs. Rimona Goiti (the foundation director) together with her two sons (6 and 7 years old) helped us to allot the food by visiting the assisted persons. In this way we have secured them with food for a month.

The greatest need of an elderly person is to be told the Gospel, to make God known to them so that they can trust Him, before leaving this Earth for an eternal life or eternal death.
It is a great joy, that at their own request, we can do this every time they want. In those moments we read peace, hope and joy on their faces.

We have also assisted them with go-in-betweens, bills payment, company, going out to tearooms.
They have also been helped both materially and financially.
1. Mrs Margareta Bercean (who lives with her granddaughter, Simona, diagnosed with epilepsia) has received a washing machine, food and detergent worth 89,0 RON and a finacial help of 120 RON
2. Mrs Gyory Gabriela (with an income of 130 RON) was helped with 350 RON, to pay the bills and to solve the finacial issues she has been struggling with. She has also been offered food and detergent worth 89 RON
In order to make them happy and leave them with a beautiful memory to ponder on in our holliday (August), we took them to a special tearoom where they had a special piece of cake each and where they felt spoiled and valued. The had the gayity of chidren.

Sanda Bagarean has helped us wholeheartedly.

Future plans: A VISIT TO THE BOTANICAL GARDEN!
We thank all those who helped us and we encourage them to continue to do so!

March - April News
08/01/06
In March, eight elderly women have been assisted due to their material lack.
Starting with 31st of March, Mrs. Torok Ana together with her granddaughter, Ana-Maria, have moved to Turda, thus leaving our assisting program.

From the 1st of April 2006 we started the assistance of Mrs. Gyori Gabriela, of 85 years old.

We expected that the first month of spring would give us a fit background for our recreational activities, but it wasn't to be like that. We have waited for the sun rays to caress and warm the souls and the saddened faces, marked by loneliness, lack, illness, but the chilly weather and the rain stood against us. So we equipped ourselves with patience while waiting for a warm spring and we tried to enjoy whatever we succeeded to do in these conditions. This is what we did....
Easter time and 8th of March came with gifts, sweets and fruits, thus bringing joy, value, love and a feeling of belonging to these souls.
Also in this period the elderly ladies have received the visit of our Scottish sponsors, who encouraged them with small souvenirs, money and prayer.
In this way we thank the Lewis clan for their love and we are looking forward to having them with us in the future.

Another happy event for Mrs. Ana Torok and her granddaughter, Ana Maria (who lives with her), was her birthday celebration. She took delight into her gifts, cake, but most of all she was overjoyed by the new shoes she received.

On the 28th of April we celebrated Mrs. Margareta Bercean (who turned 83) and who was also happy for the gifts, the sweets and the love we had for her.

The long awaited for emotional-spiritual support groups could no longer be held, but were replaced with individual emotional-spiritual support meetings. At their request I've read them out of the Bible and we prayed together for their problems, also spoiling them with sweets or cakes.

Other services that were meant to meet their needs were: monthly shoppings at Billa (in this way we secure them with the basics for a month), thing that offers them a feeling of safety and tranquility.

The go-in-betweens with different people or institutions (the Local Council, at the doctor) have helped Mrs. Bercean Margareta, Stefan Ana, Bartha Varvara, Gyori Gabriela to solve some medical, material and social problems.
The weekly shoppings (milk, bread, vegetables).
Paying the bills for them is a useful activity as they are then protected from paying forfeitures.
The company which they enjoy very much and which we sweeten with a piece of cake or fruits, listening to their memories and troubles.
Accompanying them to the doctor for consultation and prescriptions (Stefan Ana, Ilies Melinda).
At the chemist's - drugs acquisitions require time and patience and we gladly invest these for them, but sometimes the medicine prescribed cannot be found and therefore we are forced to request for other foundations' help (Petros) or for the help of some churches that have a chemist's (First Baptist Church). These people help us as they can handle the situation themselves.
We want to thank them in this way also.
The material-financial aid is offered by our foundation according to it's possibilities and to the needs of the assisted persons.
Through all we do we wish to make these souls feel loved and help them look to God, from whom all help comes.

the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

As promised, I would like to inform you constantly about our activity.
Our project deals with the hardest, saddest and most painful period of a person's life – old age – the period in which the human being heads slowly and faltering towards Eternity....
How would we want this period to be for ourselves?
Unfortunately, in most cases, old age is defined by loneliness, sickness, poverty, uncertainty, tears and even suicidal thoughts. These are also the problems of the people we assist: Varvara Bartha, Margareta Barcean, Eva Bergar, Irina Cristea, Susana Gall, Melinda Ilies, Elisabeta Palfi, Ana Stefan and Ana Torok.

As we have recounted in our previous news bulletins, throughout our project we come to meet the needs of older women who are alone, struggling with health issues, low incomes and who do not have any first grade supporters.
