News October – December 2011

This time of the year was a very busy one for us. In October we continued visiting the adolescents at home in order to complete the social surveys. In collaboration with Nicolae Iorga School we teach a seminary for the VII th - and VIII-th grades, within this school, with the topic: peer pressure and prevention of addictive substance use. Also in October begins a new academic year, it is the best time to find new volunteers to collaborate with. In this regard we held a special meeting for those who wanted to work with us, to know each other better and to sign the voluntary agreements.

The meditations for our VII-th grade teens started at the subjects: mathematics and Romanian language and literature.
Some of the work at the Day Centre involves mediation in the benefit of the adolescents and in this period we mediate for those who had problems with cavities so that they received free dental services.

Thanks to the courtesy of the cinema 7D company, we watched with the teenagers two animated movies in Iulius Mall. We had lunch in town with all our assisted teens. This was possible due to the sponsorship provided by the Mado company.

Following winter holidays, teenagers have made cards for the sponsors and they wrote these cards themselves. At Christmas we had a special celebration, Andrew, one of our volunteer, has accompanied us with his guitar and together we sang Christmas carols and we enjoyed the time we spent together. Sponsors from Lemnul Verde and Arta Culinara gave us cakes for this celebration. The adolescents received many gifts: gifts from Blythswood Foundation, shoes from Napotex company, and the employees from Emerson company also prepared gifts for them.
