Teenagers News: January

At the beginning of this period our meetings aimed to establish some objectives together with the teenagers for the New Year which stand before us and follow them throughout the whole year.
In January we plan to meet at the Centre the teenagers and their parents to read and sign contracts to provide social services. Currently concluding such contracts between NGOs and people assisted is a legal requirement.
During this period adolescents in the 7th and 8th grade had tutoring sessions in mathematics and Romanian language and literature with our volunteers.
During the one week holiday in February we planned recreational and educative meetings each day: we watched and discussed educational movies, we played all kinds of games. One day we invited two hair stylists who had cut the hair of the teenagers; we had a pyjamas party with the girls, when we prepared the dinner and we talked about the boy-girl relationship at their young age. In February we also attended a conference with the teenagers which aimed to prevent drug abuse.
Another special meeting in February was the Friendship Celebration. During this meeting we played a lot of games, we had special activities, we talked about friendship and what it means to be a friend and we encouraged our teenagers to use this time in their lives to built a good character and to be around people who could set good examples for them.
For the 8th of March celebration we had a special meeting for the girls where we discussed the role of women and its value in the society we live in, the role and importance of God in the life of each woman.
In March we were also visited by a group of students from Denmark who have prepared games for the teenagers and plays that showed the importance of living a life under God's protection.
And because the celebration of Easter was about to come, besides gifts, we watched the movie „Passion of Christ” with teenagers and after we have discussed about the true meaning of this celebration.
