JULY 2008

During 11-13 July 2008 we spent three beautiful days at Poiana Horii together with the mothers we work with, with their children and with our volunteers. The landscape made us feel like living fairy tale's moments and the fine weather invited us to relaxation, joy and playing.

The mothers had the opportunity to rest, to make friends, to share good moments and bad ones, and the children ran, played, ascended the hills, picked blueberries and they had the occasion to saw domestics animals( horses, cows, dogs). We walked, we sang, and in the second evening we warmed our souls near a wonderful camp fair, who was arranged on a little island in the middle of the river who flew across the chalet road.

Besides relaxation and joy the trip had also an instructive aim ans as a result we watched an documentary about what STD means and their consequences. We also watched the movie Human Trafficking, and we could identified some strategies of exploitation of vulnerable people forcing them to practice prostitution and other forms of sexual exploitation, promiscuity. The movie underlined the implications and consequences of these kind of behavior. The mothers had the opportunity to observe concrete situations and as a consequence they can recognize in daily life the risk factors and to protect themselves and their children.
