January and February were devoted (besides the field work) mostly to organize our workin program for the current year:
- We developed and planned activities in the elderly assistance program for the year 2010 we selected and made the planning for the assisted cases
- We had prepared the necessary working tools: social surveys, personal files, questionnaires, scorecards, collaboration contracts, accounting files, which helped to the formation of a new working file
- We selected and recruited new volunteers, we signed the voluntary contracts, we have been made badges, an after the volunteer program was established we met all together.
- We have also established the issues that we will discuss in the support groups throughout the year.
The women I assisted during this period are between 62-88 years older, with major health problems, alone, helpless, some of them are fixed in the house, which is why they need our encouragement and support. Help which we granted (together with office work), meeting the problems and difficulties faced by these people: loneliness, depression, lack physical pain, spiritual pain occasioned by lack of loved ones, etc.
For the the program works one social worker who is also the program coordinator, helped by volunteers.
I want to let the images speak for themselves about all activities and services provided during this period.
We begin with the distribution of gifts sent by Wendy (one of our sponsors in England), who brought joy to the souls of the people assisted and enhanced sense of belonging, they need. We thank him!
